Tradr Loop mobile app · Last updated 5 November 2026
This notice explains what personal information the Tradr Loop mobile application and the systems it connects to (together, the "App") collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. The App is provided by Tradr Loop (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa ("Tradr Loop", "we", "us" or "our"). We are the responsible party for this information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
1. Information we collect
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Your account details | Name, phone number, email address, ID or passport number, role, team, area and login PIN. |
| Your work activity | Shop visits, check-ins, stock and SIM card allocations and returns, sales, recharges, surveys, targets, commission, incentives, expenses and statements. |
| Location | Your phone's precise location while you use the App, for example when you check in at a shop, capture a visit or add a new shop. The App does not track your location in the background. |
| Photos and scans | Photos you take of shops, stock, coolers and shelves; barcodes of SIM cards you scan; and identity documents you scan for RICA. Text on scanned documents is read on your phone. |
| Voice | Your voice, only when you choose to use a voice feature such as the voice assistant or a voice survey. |
| Signatures | Signatures captured in the App, for example to accept a document or confirm a stock hand-over. |
| Shop and customer information | Shop names, owners' names, contact numbers and addresses. For SIM registration (RICA): the customer's name, ID or passport number, address and ID document image. |
| Device and technical information | Phone model, operating system version, app version, IP address, a notification token and crash reports. |
2. Why we use it
- To give you an account, confirm who you are and keep the App secure.
- To record and check the work you do, including confirming that shop visits took place where and when they were recorded.
- To manage stock and SIM card allocations, sales, recharges and returns.
- To register SIM cards as required by RICA, and to send that registration to the mobile network operator.
- To work out targets, commission, incentives and statements, and to pay you.
- To check shelf and cooler photos, for example for stock levels and product placement.
- To run voice and assistant features when you use them.
- To send you work notifications.
- To fix errors and improve the App.
- To meet our legal obligations and our obligations to our business partners, and to prevent and investigate fraud.
We process this information because it is needed to carry out our agreement with you, because the law requires it (for example RICA), or because it is in our legitimate business interest, as POPIA allows.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- Mobile network operators and our business partners whose products you sell or promote, for SIM registration, activation, sales reporting and commission.
- Service providers who run parts of the App for us, including:
- Amazon Web Services, for storing data and files;
- Google, for Firebase crash reports and notifications, Google Maps and place search, and Google Gemini for voice, assistant and photo analysis features;
- Roboflow, for analysing shelf and cooler photos.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
4. Information stored outside South Africa
Some of our service providers store or process information outside South Africa, for example in India, the European Union or the United States. When this happens, we use providers bound by data protection laws or agreements that protect your information to a standard similar to POPIA.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for as long as the law or our agreements with partners require, for example tax, labour and RICA record-keeping rules. After that, we delete it or remove details that identify you.
6. How we protect it
We protect information with access controls based on your role, login PINs, encrypted connections and secure hosting. No system is completely secure, so please keep your login private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
- object to some uses of it; and
- complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
To use these rights, or to ask us to delete your account, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm who you are first.
8. Phone permissions
The App asks for permission to use your phone's location, camera, microphone, storage and notifications. Each one is used only for the features described above. You can turn permissions off in your phone's settings, but some features will then stop working.
9. Children
The App is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly give accounts to people under 18.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
